Clarissa Explains It All
Marshall
Clarissa's dad, Marshall Darling, is an architect. Sounds like a pretty buttoned-down job, doesn't it? Well, Marshall doesn't look at it that way. He designs homes shaped like tea kettles, salt shakers, and other objects you don't usually associate with houses. You see, as a former 1960s hippie, Marshall is a little spacey.
Marshall gets a little confused when it comes to his kids, too. He tends to treat Clarissa like a boy -- like when he calls her "Sport," for instance. Clarissa is always trying to tackle this issue with her dad, but she doesn't get very far. When it comes to Ferguson, Marshall is more than a little suspicious of his son's "perfect" image. At least he's not spacey about that! |
