Philip Norton
Emma and Sophie’s father is an industrial designer; he works at home in his workshop in the garage on new and often unusual designs for everything from furniture to toys to sunglasses. Being at home means he can keep an eye on his teenage girls. Philip is a widower who dotes on Sophie and Emma; he has come to think of Adil as being a bit like the son he never had.
Philip is Head of Design at Baxter & Associates – or so it says on the card that his boss Max Baxter gave him. He is highly creative but pretty inept when it comes to business dealings, which is a constant source of anxiety to Max, with whom he has an otherwise friendly relationship.
Though he’s always around the house, Philip is often distracted as he tries to come up with a new design. That leaves the girls free to get into trouble…
