A superhero is made out of a breakfast food called "Powdered Toastman." A suburban husband never wears anything but his bathrobe and a pair of black socks. The most popular toy is a log. Folks, this is the cartoon world of "The Ren & Stimpy Show."
Stimpy is a cat. Ren is a dog. That's about the only normal thing you can say about this Nicktoon. Why? Well, for one thing, Stimpy is roughly twice the size of Ren. He eats kitty litter. He also has no tail. Come to think of it, he barely has a brain. Ren, on the other hand, is a screaming hyperactive chihuahua. He is a jerk, plain and simple. And you know what? This show may be the funniest cartoon you've ever seen in your life.
We're not afraid to tell you that this 'toon doesn't make any sense. It can take place anywhere. Rarely do our heroes live in the same trailer park, garbage can, or luxury apartment for more than one episode. They can be stir-crazy astronauts. They can be hand-painted firedogs. They can even become kidnapped circus midgets. Your parents may tell you they're ASHAMED that you're even watching "Ren & Stimpy"...that is, once they stop laughing at it themselves. |
